Calendar and Announcements
Unless noted otherwise below, services are held on erev Shabbat (Friday night) beginning at 7:30 pm, and on Shabbat (Saturday) morning at 9:00 am. Please see our Services page for more information.
Please refer to the note on our main page regarding closure due to concern over coronavirus contagion.
Aviv Hadash's Vice President David Rabin passed away on Friday, March 20. His graveside funeral took place on Monday, March 23, at Beth Moses Cemetery on Long Island. Here are some brief notes from the funeral. Ellen Rabin passed away a few days later, on Thursday, March 27. Because many people could not attend the funerals at this time of social distancing, Aviv Hadash will have a fitting tribute to Ellen and David - at the synagogue - once this coronavirus crisis has passed.
Pesach comes early this year, beginning on the evening of Wednesday, April 8. You can sell your chametz for free through the synagogue, by appointing the rabbi as your agent to conduct such a transaction. Download a form here, and return the completed form to the synagogue no later than Friday, April 3.
Aviv Hadash will NOT be conducting sedorim this year for the first two nights of Pesach (April 8th & 9th), due to concern over coronavirus contagion.
The adult education class usually meets on Thursday evenings at 8:00 pm, although we are currently NOT meeting due to concerns over the spread of the coronavirus.
