Calendar and Announcements
Unless noted otherwise below, services are held on erev Shabbat (Friday night) and on the evening beginning a festival at 7:30 pm, and on Shabbat (Saturday) or holiday morning at 9:00 am. Please see our Services page for more information.
The festival of Shavuot begins on Thursday evening, May 38th. Aviv Hadash is currently open on a very limited basis. We are conducting services at the usual times on the evenings and mornings of Shabbat and festivals, but we are limiting attendance to no more than 10 people who reserved their participation ahead of time. An additional Yizkor service is planned for the second day of Shavuot - Shabbat, May 30 - at 12:00 noon. Please check your email for more information.
Unfortunately, we will NOT be conducting our customary Tikkun Leil Shavuot (Torah study late into the night) or have a communal dairy dinner on Thursday evening.

Aviv Hadash's Vice President David Rabin passed away on Friday, March 20. His graveside funeral took place on Monday, March 23, at Beth Moses Cemetery on Long Island. Here are some brief notes from the funeral. Ellen Rabin passed away a few days later, on Thursday, March 27. Because many people could not attend the funerals at this time of social distancing, Aviv Hadash will have a fitting tribute to Ellen and David - at the synagogue - once this coronavirus crisis has passed.
The adult education class usually meets on Thursday evenings at 8:00 pm, although we are currently NOT meeting due to concerns over the spread of the coronavirus.
